About Me

That's me about two months ago, JUST BEFORE going to Five Guys for a delicious hamburger and fries.  Being the health nut that I was, I ordered the junior burger (which only includes 1 beef patty instead of two) and the small french fries (which I think is the same size as the large.)  My wife and I took a trip to Boscov's, her favorite department store.  I tried this suit jacket on after complaining to her that all of the clothes (the ones I tried on at least) were cheap because they didn't fit me right.  I ignored the fact that I was 50 lbs overweight and extremely unhealthy.

Believe it or not, I was sad in this picture.  Sad that I couldn't buy new clothes because I could never find anything that I felt made me look good.  Then I realized it was less about my weight, and more about how I felt.  I felt and looked tired.  I felt out of control.  I was on medication for high blood pressure and could barely walk a mile without being out of breath.  As someone who was athletic as a kid, this was hard to live with.

IT WAS TIME TO CHANGE.....(after my burger of course.)

About a week later, I was due for my monthly free credit on Audible, and was looking for a book to listen to.  On the recommended reading list was a book titled "How Not To Die" by Dr. Michael Gregor.  Now, I am a dad with two young daughters and an awesome wife, so not dying was pretty high on my priority list.  Long story short, this book opened a new door for me.  Alot of what I was putting into my body was the problem, so I decided to follow the books advice, and start a plant based eating regiment for a few weeks.  Those few weeks turned into a challenge I gave myself for 30 days.  A challenge that I am hoping you take as well.
